Remember, Gullah Island

2025, five-channel video game, 2m

Remember, Gullah Island is an alternate-reality work where ancestral spirits wander through digital renders of the Gullah Geechee Corridor. Stretching alongside the Atlantic coastal plains of North Carolina to Florida, the Corridor is a National Heritage area of cultural significance to west and central Africa and the disapora.

Commissioned by MTA Arts & Design at LIRR Grand Central Madison.

Natal Dimension is an ongoing series that travels through different eras in African history to recover traces of the original AI—Ancestral Intelligence. It channels multi-level dimensions through artifacts, sound, and supernatural phenomena in a cinematic spatial environment.

RP 002

2020-ongoing, two-channel, machine learning video installation

RPX / REIMAGINE Prototype series is a long-term computational study and an attempt to refigure lost, indigenous and extraterrestrial memory. RPX applies computer vision and machine learning techniques to juxtapose data archives from NASA Mars rover missions and The Metropolitan Museum African Collection. 

This iteration, RP 002, is installed as a two-channel video installation with a sandbox sculpture.

Black Beyond is an experimental project where anti-disciplinary artists imagine alternate realities for blackness.

2021, group exhibition, web-based game engine, variable duration

_origins is a Black Beyond festival defining black femme futures through new media art and hybrid environments. 

The multi-day event featured the work of over 25 artists, performers and cultural workers within virtual landscapes to reorient time and reclaim agency through archived conversations, workshops and sound rituals.
